Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has greenlit the comprehensive refurbishment of Okrika Grammar School situated in the Okrika Local Government Area.
During the commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of the Diocese of Okrika at St. Peter’s Anglican Church on November 18, 2023, Governor Fubara, represented by Deputy Professor Ngozi Nma Odu, emphasized the institution’s significant contribution not only within Okrika but across Rivers State.
The Governor hailed the school’s role in producing eminent personalities, including Senior Advocates of Nigeria, numerous Professors, and highly regarded Medical Doctors, recognizing their substantial impact on the state’s development.
Expressing gratitude to the Church for their continuous prayers, Governor Fubara appealed for prayers to sustain peace across Rivers State, underscoring its critical role in fostering growth.
In a sermon themed “Celebrating the Goodness of God” derived from Psalm 23:6, Guest Preacher Ven. Richard Okpara highlighted the significant advancements achieved by Okrika Diocese over the last two decades, emphasizing the importance of virtues like justice, humility, prayer, scriptural study, and fostering love within the Church for continued growth.
Pioneer Bishop of Okrika Diocese Rt. Rev. Tubokosemie Abere (RTD) expressed gratitude to Governor Fubara for his commitment to restore Okrika Grammar School, invoking blessings for the Governor’s success in fulfilling this promise.
The 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Diocese of Okrika Anglican Communion, hosted by Rt. Rev. Enoch and Mrs. Aikiogha Atuboyedia, Bishop Diocese of Okrika, witnessed the presence of dignitaries from various sectors, serving as a platform for reflection and collective appreciation of the Diocese’s contributions and growth.
