Man Abducted By Unknown Gunmen In Ahoada: Community Urges Swift Response

The Concerned Ahoada-Ekpeye Youths for Peace and Development raised alarm over the confirmed abduction of Mr. Hector Chinem Ekeakita on the evening of November 16, 2023. The incident occurred at De Promise Fast Food, Ahoada Town, Ahoada East LGA, Rivers State, where Mr. Hector was taken by gunmen in military attire following an alleged invitation for a meeting from an unidentified individual.

Mr. Hector Chinem Ekeakita, known for his role as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Igbu Akoh Youths Association, stands as a significant advocate against criminal activities within Ekpeye land.

The group appealed for the immediate and unconditional release of Mr. Hector Chinem, urging those responsible for his capture to consider his release without harm. Additionally, they called upon the Commissioner of Police, CP Oluntuji Rilwan Disu, and the DPO of Ahoada Police Division to swiftly investigate the kidnapping and ensure Hector’s safe return.

In a plea to the public, the Concerned Ekpeye Youths urged individuals to provide any pertinent information that might assist security agencies in resolving the matter and facilitating Mr. Hector Chinem’s safe release.

While expressing hope for Mr. Hector’s safe return, the group implored the Local Government Area (LGA) Chairman and security authorities to intensify efforts in securing the area and quelling crime for the well-being of its inhabitants.

Furthermore, the community emphasized the need for traditional institutions to play an active role in addressing and combatting the ongoing criminal challenges, urging them to step forward boldly to tackle these issues directly.
